Personal Introduction and Commentary

Eva Smith

Well, I'm finally on board and have had a chance to catch up by reading most of the correspondences. I applaud you all for getting right into the heart of the matter and dialoguing from various perspectives. It a joy to see you all at work. I really do not know too much about Jewish history or religion for that matter. Many of you know much more about this whole subject than I do. So from time to time I will add a few comments here and there.

Phillip has asked me to tell my story and this introductory letter will do just that. I was born a Jew in Europe post Second World War from Holocaust survivors. Have lived in Europe, Israel and finally landed in Canada in 1953. We were always secular Jews were traditions and customs were highlighted vs religion. As a student and teacher of the Tibetan material for over 20 years I find that the inbred consciousness of being Jewish is still there and hence I do celebrate some of the Jewish customs and traditions with family.

When I first came across the Tibetan's comments re the Jew I had a visceral reaction not unlike most Jewish people when they first read His remarks. I remember my mind being filled with some of what He said for days and days and me mulling it over and over. When I was finally able to be objective and I looked around I was able to see that the main point of separativeness was, in fact, a reality. In spite of the fact that most secular Jews (from the perspective of observing Jews both in Canada and the U.S.) consider themselves inclusive and accepting of other religions they really are quite separative and guard their heritage and customs. Sometimes they even display an air of superiority. Perhaps to combat the life times of persecution.

There is definitely a Christian slant to the writings of Alice Bailey and I had to remind myself of her strong Christian background and perhaps that was one of the reasons for the bias. Then again, the "Jewish problem" is written in a 1st ray style, saying it like it is. With the Jews having a strong 1st ray perhaps shocking them is one way
it can compute. It certainly had that response with me. I felt the punch right in my gut. A Jew must be at a point of consciousness to be ready to view the Jews objectively; to be able to understand the points the Tibetan is making, otherwise the position becomes one of defensiveness. Reason and astral reactions do not agree.

When Jewish students encounter the blue books there are in fact two issues that they need to deal with.

1. "The Jewish Problem"
2. The continuous references to Christ

Although early on I understood the use of the term Christ in the blue books it did take me some time to be able to freely use the word Christ when teaching the Ageless Wisdom. I needed to be able to totally let go of any internal reaction, to stop substituting words like `love' for Christ or to further explain the word Christ to the student body. The term Christ still needs broadening in most people's understanding to move them from the historical Christ. This applies to both Jew and Gentile. Many non-Jews react adversely to the term Christ from their own conditioning, so that always needs clarification.

An example: the Great Invocation which is encouraged to be said as frequently as possible by all esotericists has the word Christ in it and to the Jew who is a novice to the Bailey teaching, this invocation is a turn off.

In observing the Jews both in Canada and the U.S. it is easy to see how the secular Jew has become assimilated. The U.S. is a generation ahead of Canada. Where there is no persecution or the barring of religious practices people assimilate. If it's not with the first generation by the third generation there is so much assimilation that one has to truly look for one's roots. As a first generation Canadian the thought of not marrying Jewish never would have been considered by me.

My two children (2nd generation) brought up in an environment where the emphasis was and is on the Oneness of all humanity, both married non-Jews. The only Jewishness that their children (our grandchildren) are exposed to is the little bit that my husband and I expose them to, through family dinners on special occasions.

The Jews in Germany prior to Hitler were comfortable and free and as a result assimilated until Hitler sought them out. We are all aware of the difficulty the Jews are having in France. The strong militant Islamic arm is persecuting them. As a result there are emails floating around reminding Jews of what happened during the second
world war. There is a strong sense of unity building again amongst the Jews in the diaspora as they see any type of persecution against other Jews.

Another point worth mentioning: The Tibetan speaks of races and we know the Jew and the Arab are of the semetic race. Yet, when I was growing up, I and other Jews, considered the Jews as a race. It wasn't until a co-worker (non-Jew) challenged me on this that I gave this matter a considerable amount of thought.

Most people speak of themselves in terms of nationality and then religion. An Italian living in the diaspora would consider him/herself a Canadian or American of Italian origin and then whatever religion s/he is. The same for a French person, a Swedish person, and Australian and so on. A Jewish person would consider himself a Canadian or American and a Jew. Is the Jew a reference to the religion or the fact that he has Jewish roots. He doesn't refer to himself as Israeli, unless he has come from Israel to another country. Israel didn't exist before 1949.

A Jew is a Jew irrespective of the nation he finds himself living in. Whether I am an atheist, an agnostic or a person who is converted to another religion, I always remain a Jew. So in this case, is the Jew a religion or a race? In conversation, Jews are spoken of in the same way as Blacks (Afro Americans) are spoken of. The Afro-American is not a religion or a nationality. It is a race. As much as people don't admit it, the Jew is considered a race and that in itself is separative. So not only do the Jews keep themselves separate and apart in consciousness, the rest of humanity
does too.

There is much more to the problem of the Jew than meets the eye. What has given me solace and greater understanding is the Tibetan's comments that the Jewish problem is a cross section of humanity's problem. When the Jew can let go of his separativeness - not see himself as different and the rest of humanity can embrace the Jew and not see the Jew as different, then humanity will have achieved.
Because if this can happen vis a vis the Jewish people it can happened with all people.

Parallels between the North American Indians
and the Palestinians

Dear Abraham and group,

Earlier you mention the North American Native Indian (NANI) and the seizing of their lands. There are some parallels between the treatment of the NANI and the Palestinians.
The NANI roamed Canada and the US and lived there undisturbed until the white man came. Through aggression the white man had the upper hand and claimed the land as his. There were treaties agreed upon by both NANI and the white man, albeit, many of the promises made by the white man were broken. The end result, in Canada, at least, is that the Canadian Indians were given tracts of land and allowed to live on these reservations. Of course the parcels of land were not the choicest and the Indians got the short end of the stick.

On the reservations the Indians are fully supported by the government, do not have to pay taxes and yet the government has no jurisdiction on the reservations. The Indians, have a choice, they can either stay on the reservations or fully integrate into society, whereby they lose government support. The treatment of the Indians has been horrific, to say the least. We’ve had since 1867 to make reparations. Israel’s history is only 60 years old. Canada and the US have “…a history of discovery, investigation and seizure, followed frequently by wicked and cruel treatment of the inhabitants of the discovered lands.” Education in the New Age, p. 45.

It is true that the Indian is a race that is dwindling while the Arabs appear to be increasing and growing in numbers. If the tables were reversed I don’t know what it would have been like here in the west. The wrongs and hurts that were perpetrated on these people are still not healed and finished with. The main points are: they are being cared for in some fashion; they are citizens of the country with full voting rights if they choose to be; all this is within the boundaries of the lands that they inhabited in the past.

The Germans continue to make reparations for surviving Holocaust Jews throughout the world. Payments are sent on a regular basis called ‘wiedergutmachung’ (making good???) to those that applied and were approved.
Jews are being remunerated to some extent for properties that they owned in Poland, as an example, if they can prove they owned them.

I also believe that Jews in the diaspora would send monies to Israel to help with reparations towards Arabs if this became one of the conditions for peace.

There doesn’t seem to be a quick or easy fix to any injustices. And even when it is supposedly ‘fixed’ it continues to have its share of problems. Judging by history it’s not going to be easy to arrive at a solution that will satisfy both sides.

Dear Abraham your position and ideas have offered are group opportunity to think deeply and in a variety of ways which otherwise we probably wouldn’t have. For this I am grateful.

Responsibility of Jews, Racial History
and Difficult Dialogues

Eva Smith

I certainly have been following all the correspondences and giving this matter a lot of thought. I must be honest. As a Jew, I found Leoni’s paper very disturbing and at the same time sobering. [Some points to make]:

1. Even though I have read what the Tibetan has written re the Jews, I haven’t dwelled on it but instead have reduced all of what was written to two basic concepts separativeness – this is all around us. a. Yes, the Jews continue to be separative. b.The evil Zionists and the movement for the resettlement of Jews in Palestine – this to me was in the past, hence history. And so the emphasis and focus for me has been on the teachings.

2. The Tibetan’s harsh dealings with the Jews and Leoni’s paper are reduced to black and white. There is no room for nuances or shades of gray. That is why most Jews are re-pulsed by that approach. After Leoni’s paper I was overcome with a tremendous sense of responsibility that the Jews must accept and handle.

3. There is much that Abraham has said that resonates with me. My family settled in Israel in 1949. Stories that were discussed in our home were not any different to what Abraham has alluded to, so I was raised with similar thoughts and feelings re the Jews in Palestine.

4. As an immigrant child of Holocaust survivors in Canada in 1953 anti-Semitism was still quite overt and needed to be dealt with.

There is a three part documentary “American Jews” on PBS Wednesdays with the 2nd part this Wed. and the conclusion the following Wed. The emphasis in part I dealt with the coming of the first Jews from Amsterdam to New Amsterdam (New York) in the 1600’s where they weren’t wanted, then the arrival of those fleeing the Inquisition and then the Eastern Jews. All this before Israel existed. They fled because of persecution. Jews as we know have never been liked or wanted. In the US the early Jews assimilated and lost their Jewishness. The later Jews spoke of the freedom they experienced for the first time in their lives. All these experiences help shape the collective psyche of the Jews in the diaspora.

5. Everything we read, are exposed to, and make as our knowledge base is written by someone through his/her filtering system. Everything is written from someone’s perspective. Even the reports written by Arjan El Fassed that Phillip sent us have a particular bias. The Tibetan’s books have a Christian emphasis which more than likely came from Alice herself. We are all conditioned by what we learn and that forms and shapes our thoughts. Much information has a thread of truth running through it but overlaid with one’s perspective.

6. Most of what is written is based on effects and not causes. Events based on effects are what is polarizing the people. It has created greater division and continues to polarize people.

7. A little personal story: Last week a few of us were engaged in talking about the Middle East situation. I threw into the mix the idea of each side taking responsibility for what they’ve done. What started as a friendly discussion quickly became heated. These people are intelligent, sophisticated and well-read. They could spew out facts at me in seconds. This kind of interchange left me very saddened for there was no open heart, certainly no heart-mind, or compassion. This is a microcosm of the way most Jews in the diaspora respond. And they are not living in physical danger like the Jews in Israel are. How do we inconsciousness?

8. On being right: The greatest cause of fighting amongst couples is each believes he is right. Nothing strengthens the ego more than being right. Being right is identification with a mental position – a perspective, an opinion, a judgment, a story, a belief. To be right, you need someone else to be wrong, and so the ego loves to make wrong in order to be right. By doing this you get a stronger sense of who you are, a sense of superiority which the ego (personality) craves and through which it enhances itself.

9. By analogy, let’s apply this to Israel (Jews) and the Palestinians. Each believes he is right. Each is identified with his/her position. Again, I ask what will change the consciousness?

10. The Jews in Canada and the US continue to support Israel. They know that those that were trying to escape the Nazi’s were not allowed admittance to either country. What I hear from immigrant Jews is that “this must never happen again”. As long as they believe they have a country – Israel, they can identify with it and feel somewhat secure. Money will continue to pour in to Israel. This is not based on propaganda, it is based on people’s experience. So, are these individuals supporters of Zionists? I think not. They are supporters of Israel, as a country and her sustainability.

11. Many Jews in the diaspora are very strongly against the settlements in the occupied territories. Those that do support it are doing so based on fear, lack of security, etc. Although Arjan El Fassed addressed this issue, the fact of fear still exists. An illusion, a glamour, it doesn’t matter. It exists.

12. In some correspondence from Phillip back in 2003 Phillip wrote: "The three disciples of DK's quoted in EP1-393-401, were advanced disciples in ancient Lemuria". [See The Hidden History of Humanity by Phillip Lindsay]

Tubal-Cain – ‘an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron’.
Founder of Smithing. 1st aspect. (Vulcan, Vul-cain)

Jubal – Father of all who played the harp and organ.
Founder of Music. 2nd aspect. (Jupiter)

Jabal – Father of tent dwellers, cattle-herders.
Founder of Geometry. 3rd aspect. (Mercury)

“The original three disciples and their family groups were the ancestors of three major racial groupings, which can be generalised as follows:

1. The Semitic race or races of Biblical and modern times; the Arabs, the Afghans, the Moors and the offshoots and affiliations of those peoples, including the modern Egyptians. These are all descended from the eldest of the three disciples. [Jabal – 3rd aspect, hence 3rd subrace of 5th Rootrace].

2. The Latin peoples and their various branches throughout the world, and also the Celtic races wherever found. These are descended from the second of the three disciples. [Jubal – 2nd aspect, hence 4th subrace of 5th Rootrace].

3. The Teutons, the Scandinavians, and the Anglo-Saxons, who are the descendants of the third of the three disciples.” [1][1] [Tubal-Cain – 1st aspect, hence 5th subrace of 5th Rootrace.

Although all three disciples are the ancestors of the major races of Humanity, Jabal (Semitic/Jewish) is discriminated against by Jubal (Celtic-Latin) and Tubal-Cain (Teuton, Anglo-Saxon):

“Gradually the descendants of two of these three disciples [Jabal, Tubal-Cain] have accepted, and have ranged themselves on the side of those who are antagonistic to the Jew…” [2][3] (Author’s italics)

[Phillip] The key to it all is that those three disciples and their descendants can be traced through specific races and subraces, post Lemuria - and pre-Lemuria, pre-Earth chain and even pre-System.

[Eva] So, it looks like the three disciples that revolted were the progenitors of all races, not just the Jewish race. What the legends which were promulgated in Atlantean times and why the descendants of two of these three disciples ranged themselves on the side of those who are antagonistic to the Jew… we really don’t know.

It sounds like there is a greater purpose for the Jew to be so detested throughout history. I keep coming back to the thought that the Jewish problem is every human’s struggle, overcoming the personality by the soul; the solar plexus symbolized by the Middle East is one’s personality identification; it’s about “me”; it’s the struggle to transmute the forces of the lower nature into the heart. Perhaps this conflict is the tipping point that will lead to humanity’s first initiation. The conflict is definitely growing in momentum and needs to be resolved. Bush might be able to leave the While House having accomplished something good if he can broker a peace agreement. Can this be resolved before we move into the Age of Aquarius????

We must continue with our visualizations, our meditations and the sending of light and not be deterred by human failure and setbacks.

Jews: Solar Plexus of Planetary Logos

Eva Smith

The solar plexus is governed by the 6th ray and is ruled by Mars and Neptune depending on the point of evolution. Some of the qualities of the 6th ray are idealism, one-pointedness, narrow-mindedness, reactiveness, personalization, and of course, emotionalism. The Jews as a race have demonstrated all these and more qualities of the 6th ray.

- The ideal of Zionism, a Jewish state.
- Going after that ideal with zeal and Martian energy.
- The narrow-mindedness of some who do not see how limited the view   to increase Jewish settlements in annexed lands is.
- How sensitive the Jewish people are to any mention or act that might resemble anti-Semitism. They take anything said very personally and become victimized in their mind-set. The reasons for this type of reaction are understandable but it still is a 6th ray reaction.

The solar plexus is one of the most active of the centers with much going on, almost a 3rd ray-like energetic. Although the sixth ray governs the solar plexus one could apply the 3rd ray of activity to the energy of this centre which relates to the personality of the Jews, the 3rd ray.

The solar plexus is a major feeling centre, related to emotions and emotional thought – kama manas. It is the outlet of the astral body into the outer world; the instrument through which emotional energy flows; the chakra through which that part of humanity conditioned by desire operates; it registers emotions; can incorporate both feelings from astral body and concrete thoughts from the mental body.

It is also the centre of “me”, the primary centre of our self-identity. It is what distinguished me from you and hence is separative. I am me and you are you, because I can feel the difference. This centre reacts to how you look, what colour you are, your ethnicity, etc. By its very nature this centre is separative and tries to maintain its separative identity.

The Jews have maintained their separative identity, their religion, and their culture through the ages.

The identity here referred to is the personality, the ego. We know that it takes thousands of lives to evolve and develop an integrated and coordinated personality. When this stage is reached it is all powerful and selfish. The unspiritualized personality will do whatever it can to preserve the ego structure, the lunar nature, influenced by Saturn. The basic issues for this level of consciousness are an expansion of identity and drive for personal recognition and power. This is the Leo state of consciousness – individuality, rising above the masses (Cancer). Through religion, customs and a collective identity the Jews have preserved their identity. They have risen above the crowd. Where ever they have lived, they have brought a degree of creativity, intelligence and noteworthiness.

Both Mars and the 6th ray are associated with this centre and thus we see how reactive this centre is. Mars drives forward. This chakra “pushes”. The emotions and thoughts that this chakra generates will often push away other people or push away the Real. It keeps a feeling field around us. It keeps or pushes a field out from us. This is how we feel, or are impacted but what is said. We feel it right in the gut – the solar plexus.

The Jews have been hated (solar plexus) through the centuries. By their very separative and reactive attitudes they have pushed people away.
This centre from a negative perspective can lead to feelings of victim consciousness and lack of empowerment. The Jews have been scape goats and have victim mentality and try to empower themselves often aggressively (Mars).

This centre has a thought component, it is kama-manasic, and has the ability to draw upon the mind. The Jews with their developed intelligence from the first solar system bring the quality of intelligence and cleverness into their lives.

The solar plexus is a “clearing house”. This chakra, because of its thought component uses discrimination and is the door through which much that is related to the lower chakras must pass through. The sacral centre pulls. It is about the pull of life and all that it has to offer. Because the sacral centre governs the physical plane life it is very oriented to the material world. One is pulled by material goods, material appetites. Psychologically, the sacral is what we want of the physical plane, how we get it, and how we hold on to it, maintain it, as well what we are repulsed by, of the physical plane. The Jews apply their discriminating minds to get what they need, to pull from the material world for their personal needs.

The solar plexus is the last chakra below the diaphragm, the highest and the top most of everything that is physical plane oriented, the matter aspect. It is the highest of the lower.

The solar plexus is a dual centre. The awakened point, the lower is our personality identity. The higher point of the solar plexus starts to glow and grow and alight when we start to work on our selflessness. It resonantly calls to that which is above – the heart, the transference point for the solar plexus. Through the science invocation and evocation the energies of the solar plexus bubble up to the heart while the energies of the heart ray down to the solar plexus. It is about the best qualities that the personality can be - the most beautiful, the most truthful, the most honest.

And there are many Jews that have developed this radiant and loving quality. Here is the Neptunian compassionate love. The quality of soul has inspired many Jews through the arts, literature, science, etc.

Because the solar plexus is next to the heart and is the feeling centre it is associated with love - individual love, self love, or love of the individual; also caring, nurturing, taking care of, feelings of responsibility, emotionally attached love for others. This love is personal, not group love or universal love. Most, love their fellow Jews.

For the most part the Jew has not embraced all of humanity for this would be a function of the heart.

Many Jews understand the suffering of the underdog having been in that position themselves and thereby move forward to help others, witnessed through the Civil Rights movement in the U.S. They were the vanguards of the movement. The rays of the solar plexus move upward while the rays of the heart move downward creating a mingling of sorts – heartfelt compassion and understanding accompanied by tremendous emotionality, fervour and fighting spirit. (Mars and Neptune)

The Jews, we are told hold represent humanity and herein lies the potential for humanity. Humanity is going through a re-keying of their solar plexus. We will be able to look at one another without seeing the differences, the colour, the ethnicity, etc. One of the qualities of the solar plexus is commonality. It is that which we have in common with one another. It is the one chakra that all people have functioning.

Higher functioning of the solar plexus has to do with discriminating currents of energy rightly, and the relationship one has with their subjective brotherhood. This is still of the individual and therefore not a heart function which is only of group, group orientation, and universal consciousness.

Numbers and Resonance

- The solar plexus is the 3rd chakra and stands for the personality. The personality ray of the Jews is the 3rd
- The solar plexus has 10 petals. The personality sign of the Jews is the 10th sign – Capricorn.
- The higher solar plexus could be counted as the 4th centre. The number 4 is associated with humanity. The Jews represent humanity.
- Humanity, however, is usually assigned to the throat centre of the planetary logos. The throat centre is governed by Saturn (R3). The personality of the Jews is ray 3, the personality sign of the Jews is Capricorn (R3). Saturn (R3) has played such an important role in the history of the Jews.
- 10 petals sum to 1. 1 is associated with the Jews – R1 for the soul of the Jews.
- Capricorn is the sign of initiation. The Jews represent humanity being initiated from the solar plexus centre (3rd aspect – personality) to the soul-ar centre – the heart (2nd aspect – soul), the transference point, where in Virgo, the soul sign of the Jews, the 2nd aspect, the Christ consciousness, is birthed in the cave of the heart.
